Eco Council

ECO COUNCIL

What is Eco Council?

Eco Council is a group of pupils who meet regularly to discuss eco friendly and environmental issues within school which prepares children to live their future lives with consideration for global issues. The Eco Council consists of one pupil from year 2 to 6 class and is led by the Science Lead.  The Eco Council are representatives for their class and will ensure that they communicate with their peers and actions involve the whole school.

Why do we have an Eco Council?

-To ensure our school is eco-friendly and prepares pupils to live with reflection of the environment.

-To make sure each class has a platform to voice their opinions.

-To discuss and raise issues related to the environment.

What happens in the meetings?

We will begin the year by completing an environmental review, which this year starts is supported by applying for Eco Green School status. This will help us create an action plan for this year on areas we would like to improve environmentally for the school and the local community. Minutes will be taken by the Eco Council children and will be displayed on the new Eco School Board.
