Chile

Welcome to Chile! (Year 4)

Class Information

Thank you for visiting Chile’s webpage.

Our class teacher in Chile is Miss Heath. I look forward to spending the year with you and watching you grow.

We have lots of fun and exciting things to learn in Year Four, and we’ll keep you updated with regular posts and photos on SeeSaw. Please speak to the class teacher to ensure you are signed up.

Multiplication check

In Year Four, the children will complete a multiplication check. Therefore, it is very important that children are practising their times tables frequently. Remember to use Times Tables Rock Stars at home.

Zones of Regulation

In Class Chile, we support each other in regulating our emotions to ensure we are ready for learning. Each morning and afternoon begins with mindful breathing and a ‘check-in,’ where we discuss our emotions and identify the best tools to help us stay in our optimal zone, using our individualized plans. We always remember that every zone is ok and we can always ask for help if we need it.

PE

Chile will have PE every Wednesday this year. We will have lots of fun practicing different skills and techniques. Children are to come into school dressed in their PE kits ready for our PE session in the afternoons.

Reading Books

Please ensure your child is reading daily at home and return reading books and reading journals once they have a good understanding of the book. They will then complete an Accelerated Reader quiz to assess their understanding of the book.

Homework

Homework will be given out on a Friday and to be handed to the class teacher the following Tuesday. Homework will consist of some Maths and some English work that we have been focussing on during that week. If you require any additional support then please ask.

Water Bottles

Please remember to bring your water bottle every day—hydration is important for our brains! Water bottles should have a sports cap to prevent spills. If you need to purchase a water bottle, they are available at the school office.

School Uniform

All children must attend school in their full school uniform, including black school shoes. If you have any problems or queries, please contact the office directly by telephone.

We are going to have a fantastic year in Chile!

Miss Heath.
