Curriculum Introduction

AT GWLADYS STREET COMMUNITY PRIMARY AND NURSERY SCHOOL

At Gwladys Street Community Primary and Nursery School, we strive to ensure that all pupils have ‘Golden Opportunities for Achievement and Learning (GOAL)’.

Gwladys Street is a community school, proud of its heritage and long history.  We value our strong local partnerships and the wealth of support that we provide to our community.

Our school population is varied and diverse and we celebrate our differences.  The four pillars of Equality, Diversity, Inclusivity and Safeguarding underpin all of our practices.  Consequently, our curriculum is not only designed to cover statutory requirements but is also enriched by our extensive Personal, Social and Health Education programme.

We firmly believe that the acquisition of a wide and rich vocabulary is crucial to obtain optimum learning and outcomes.  ‘Real life’ experiences are embedded into the curriculum to make sense of abstract meanings and to excite and engage our pupils.

Our curriculum creates happy, curious and resilient citizens with a thirst for learning and high aspirations for the future.
