Class Information
Hello Class India,
I am so excited to begin our fantastic year together! Let’s meet the Year 5 team: I am Miss Aucutt and I am the class teacher in Class India and in Class Russia we have Miss Finnerty! In Year 5, we already have so many exciting things planned including learning all about Anglo-Saxon Britain, Earth and Space as well as educational visits! We will continue to immerse ourselves in the Spanish language with Yiaza every Friday and will be working with MGL to create 3D Models.
Attendance
Remember to be in school every day to achieve your full potential. Our class attendance can even improve our school school attendance percentage and we will be rewarded every day we have 100%.
Please ensure that you are bringing your school water bottle to school each day and remember to take your water bottle home every night. It needs to be refilled at home and brought back to school the following day. Remember we learn best when we are hydrated. If the whole class remembers this, they will receive a dojo.
School water bottles are available via ParentPay or children can use a water bottle that has a sports cap.
Our PE topics this half term is Handball.
Our PE lessons are on a Tuesday afternoons. For PE lessons, all children must have a Gwladys Street PE kit (white t-shirt, blue shorts and black pumps). PE kits are available via ParentApp. You need sensible trainers that are suitable for outdoor PE.
We are so lucky to have Spanish lessons each week – every Friday Morning.
English and Maths basic skills homework is given out on a Friday and needs to be back in school for Wednesday. Children are encouraged to use Numbots/TTRS in order to develop their number skills at home. Reading records are to be brought to school each day and children should read for 5-10 minutes each evening.
