Gwladys Street Community Primary and Nursery School, Breakfast Club

At Gwladys Street, we have a Breakfast Club available for children from Nursery to Year 6.

EYFS (Nursery and Reception), Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils access the Breakfast Club through the main door (next to Year 4) in the Key Stage 2 building. Parents must hand their child(ren) to a member of staff on the door and sign the daily register.

The cost of this is £1.00 per day and for additional siblings, 50p per child per day.

Payments are to be made via ParentPay app – School will not accept cash.

Children can come from 7.45am and the last admission time is 8.15am.

We also have a variety of activities for children to do after their breakfast including sports, dancing, games and reading.

Dietary Needs

Kitchen staff cater for children with dietary requirements. All purchased food is checked against the 14 allergens list then cross referenced to the pupil allergy list

What are the 14 allergens? 

The 14 allergens are:

  • Celery
  • Cereals containing gluten (such as barley and oats)
  • Crustaceans (such as prawns, crabs and lobsters)
  • Eggs
  • Fish
  • Lupin
  • Milk
  • Molluscs (such as mussels and oysters)
  • Mustard
  • Peanuts
  • Sesame
  • Soybeans
  • Sulphur dioxide and sulphites (if they are at a concentration of more than ten parts per million)
  • Tree nuts (such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios and macadamia nuts).

Parents and Carers are asked to complete an allergy and Medical Needs form at the beginning of each year and it is the parental responsibility to inform the school of any changes to their child’s medical needs throughout the year.

Cultural Provision

As a school we have a team to support EAL pupils. This team as part of the pastoral and wider school support help children and parents to become members of our school and wider community. There is a focus on developing language in order for the children to access a fun and engaging curriculum.
