Welcome to Class China!

Class Information
In Class China, our aim is to develop a love of learning. Always try our best in everything we do and never give up when faced with difficulties. Another aim is to make everyone feel safe and respect those around us.
Our class teacher is Mrs. Haslehurst and our wonderful teaching assistant is Mrs J Cunningham and 1-1 support member of staff is Miss Carroll.
Attendance
We want to give your child the very best start in life, and good attendance is the key to their success.
When your child is here every day, they are not just learning — they are building their future. Coming to primary school regularly is vital because it:
Builds strong foundations: Early reading, writing, and math skills are taught in daily steps. Missing just one day can leave a gap in their learning.
Creates lasting friendships: Being in class every day helps children bond with classmates, play together, and build social confidence.
Develops great life habits: Arriving on time teaches children routines that will help them succeed all the way into adulthood.
Boosts confidence: Children who attend regularly feel more secure because they know exactly what to expect in their daily routine.
To support all of the above, we will regularly monitor your child’s attendance and speak to you about any patterns or concerns we come across. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child arrive on time and ready to learn every single day. Together, we can help them thrive!
Reading:
Children are expected to read for at least ten minutes every day and books must be returned to school daily as the children will have opportunities to independently read throughout the day along with solo reading sessions with a member of staff. Reading journals should be filled in after reading and also returned daily along with the reading book. Journals should be signed daily.
Uniform, water bottles and equipment:
All children are required to wear the correct uniform for school including black school shoes. If a child presents in incorrect uniform, a letter will be sent to parents at the end of the day stating which item was incorrect. Water bottles are available to buy from the school office for £2. All water bottles must have a sports cap and be of a suitable size. No rucksacks or large bags should be brought into school. If they are brought in, they will be sent home at the end of the day not to be returned. As school will provide all stationary needed, children do not require a pencil case or any other stationery.
