Gwladys Street Eco-Committee
What is Eco Committee?
Eco Committee is a group of pupils who meet regularly to discuss eco friendly and environmental issues within school which prepares children to live their future lives with consideration for global issues. The Eco Council consists of pupils from year 1 to 6 and is led by the Geography Lead, Mrs Rimmer. The Eco Committee are representatives and will ensure that they communicate with their peers and actions involve the whole school.
Why do we have an Eco Council?
To ensure our school is eco-friendly and prepares pupils to live with reflection of the environment.
To make sure each class has a platform to voice their opinions.
To discuss and raise issues related to the environment.
What happens in the meetings?
We will begin the year by completing an environmental review, this will help us create an action plan develop areas we would like to improve environmentally for the school and the local community. Minutes will be taken by the Eco Committee children and will be kept in our Eco folder.

Helping our local community
As part of our commitment to caring for our local environment, pupils will have the opportunity to work together to improve the appearance of our community and learn more about the importance of reducing litter and protecting the places around us. Our Eco Committee took part in a community litter pick around our school grounds!
